Avoiding Sun Burns

Updated: Sep 12, 2019

Traveling has many upsides, but burning isn't one of them

I personally don't burn very easily -- I know, lucky me :) But I have plenty of friends who can just think about the sun and get burned as a result. The goal is to avoid burning and continue to enjoy your vacation worry and burn free.

Design with Ease

Please re-apply every two hours and apply thirty minutes before going out!

Sometimes it's the smallest things people forget about that leave them looking like a lobster. One layer is not enough, even if it is water proof.

Function, Style and Safety

You might not want to, but a water shirt is key. Girls and guys, I promise you on websites like Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Pac Sun, Zaful, Shein etc. they carry cute ones. This way you can be a beach bum on vacation without the burn. A water shirt does NOT mean you don't have to wear sunscreen. Even with a water shirt on, you need to put sunscreen on because the sun can still burn you through the water shirt. Don't believe me? The picture above is a picture of my boyfriend's back after he wore a water shirt, but no sunscreen.

This is Larry the Lobster from Spongebob. Wear sunscreen and occasionally a water shirt or you will be looking like Larry too.

Avoid being

Lobster look alike

You need to know what avoid, or you'll never be safe from those strong tropical sun-rays.

Peak hour is between 10am and 2pm. That doesn't mean don't go outside, it means be more cautious and know what you're walking out to. Sunburns do occur in cold areas, do not think otherwise!!! When looking for a sunscreen, make sure to get one that is broad spectrum in order to protect against both UV and UVA rays. Keep in mind that your lips can get burnt and some chapsticks make your lips more vulnerable to the sun; make sure to get chapstick with SPF.
