Washington DC is filled with stuff to do; explore it and enjoy it!

Quick tip about Washington DC: make sure to go to the National Mall and take advantage of all the free Smithsonian Museums. These are not boring, but most are rather interactive and highly engaging!

Start off with a long walk. Start at the State Capital building, then stop at any Smithsonian Museum on the walk down from the State Capital to the Washington Monument. On the way, make sure to stop at the Mary-Go-Round -- it's my favorite! Go from the Washington Monument, to the World War II Memorial (thats my favorite monument). Then, make your way to the Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial. All of these are one after another, one straight line.

Walking is good for the soul. Good thing theres a lot of walking to do in Washington DC :)

Catch a bite to eat and go shopping in the beautiful and lively Georgetown. Visit my earlier blog Georgetown Spree for more information!

Dupont Circle is similar to Georgetown, but carries different vibes. This is certainly a day trip, so you can enjoy all the restaurants, shopping, dive bars etc. I highly recommend visiting Embassy Row and the Georgian Revival mansion, both filled with beautiful architecture and give perfect photo opportunities. Then when night comes, enjoy the nightlife, it's always a good time at Dupont Circle!

Visit the Basilica at The Catholic University of America -- that's my college! The Basilica is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever stepped into. The walls and ceilings are filled with beautiful mosaic art that is mesmerizing. On the bottom floor, there are areas along the side for different religions to pray, each and every single one are beautifully filled with the same mosaic art that the top floor has. This is not a place to be overlooked, visit if you can, you won't regret it!
